Who is Haas

Haas Door Company was founded by Ernest Haas and his sons in 1953 in Perrysburg, Ohio. The company started as a garage door repair business and began manufacturing garage doors in 1957.

Haas, now owned by the Nofziger family and headquartered in Wauseon, Ohio, has expanded their product line to include 9 residential garage door series. They also manufacture a variety of commercial garage doors.

Haas Garage Door Options and Features

Below is information on some of the features and options available on Haas garage doors. Most other top garage door brands have similar features for you to compare.

Energy Efficiency Options

All of the insulated Haas steel garage doors include features that add to their thermal performance and energy efficiency. One of these features is a “full thermal break” in the tongue-and-groove construction. This means that airflow is completely stopped, so outside air doesn’t penetrate the door.

This is achieved with rigid vinyl top and bottom caps that seal the joints and minimize metal-to-metal contact limiting the transfer of heat.

Most of the insulated doors include a layer of environmentally compliant polyurethane foam for maximum energy efficiency providing R-Values at 16 or above.

Haas doors also come with a heavy bottom weather seal that flexes to fit the contour of the garage floor, a component many quality garage doors have regardless of brand.

SelectView Windows

The SelectView window option allows you to place windows on your garage door in dramatic patterns depending on the door you select.

Windows can be stacked in a single row on one or both sides of the door, or in a double row, top to bottom. Windows can be used to create unique custom looks or architectural styles such as a very contemporary look or added to allow more light into the garage.

Decorative Glass Windows

Besides the standard window options, many of the Haas garage doors are available with Haas Doors Decorative Glass Collection. These windows provide the appearance of wrought iron mullions within the glass, but the design is actually baked onto the inside of the layered glass. This creates the appearance of wrought iron without the weight and potential for the mullions to rust.

Modern Craft, Emerald, and Prairierview are the decorative window choices, and they were all designed to complement a variety of architectural styles. The windows are available with insulated or non-insulated glass in either clear or frosted.

Window Glass Options

If you add windows to your garage door, you will have a wide variety of glass options to choose from. You’ll find non-insulated and insulated glass in clear, tinted glass including gray and bronze, frosted, and obscure glass. There is also impact-resistant polycarbonate available in clear, tinted, and frosted.

The Residential Aluminum 360 Series are available in the above choices as well as with wired glass, laminated safety glass in clear or frosted, and a reflective bronze tinted glass.

Paint Color Matching Program

This is a nifty feature!

You can paint your front door, shutters, or your home’s exterior trim to match your garage door with the Haas color match program. Here’s how you do it:

*All of the Haas garage door colors are available through Sherwin Williams. Download the Hass color codes, and Sherwin Williams will mix the paint to match your garage door.
